Our Story

The Gilded Spoon began as a dream shared by two friends, Chef Anya Petrova and Sommelier James Harding. Both had a deep love for the culinary arts and a desire to create a restaurant that celebrated the unique flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Anya, with her extensive experience in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe and North America, brought her refined culinary skills to the table. James, with his encyclopedic knowledge of wines from around the world, curated a wine list that perfectly complemented Anya's dishes.

In 2015, Anya and James found the perfect location in Seattle's Elliott Avenue West – a historic building with exposed brick walls and soaring ceilings. They transformed the space into an elegant and inviting dining room, with a touch of Northwest charm. The Gilded Spoon officially opened its doors in 2016, and quickly gained recognition for its exceptional food, impeccable service, and commitment to sustainability. From the beginning, Anya and James were dedicated to sourcing the freshest, locally grown ingredients and supporting local farmers and fishermen.
